The Artist's signature on these prints attests that he has personally inspected, numbered and approved and signed each print and further verifies that no unsigned or unnumbered copies within the limited edition are known to exist.
The Yellowstone Collection contains three original works created, numbered, signed and dated by the artist. The original photographs were taken by Robert B. Decker at Yellowstone National Park. One is based on a photograph taken of Old Faithful Geyser in the Upper Geyser Basin. Another is based on a photograph taken of the Lower Falls of the Yellowstone River from Artist Point, and the third is of Mammoth Hot Springs.
Yellowstone National Park was established in 1872 as America’s first national park, an idea that spread worldwide. In addition to geysers, hot springs and mudpots, the Canyon area features the colorful Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River and the Upper and Lower falls from overlooks and walkways. The park’s ecosystems range from near-desert vegetation at the north entrance to subalpine meadow and forest on Mount Washburn. They support a variety of habitats that sustain diverse wildlife like bison (buffalo), elk, grizzly and black bears, wolves, trumpeter swans, and Yellowstone cutthroat trout.
Photographer and graphic artist, Rob Decker, studied photography with Ansel Adams in the summer of 1979 in Yosemite National Park, an experience that solidified his love of photography and our National Parks. Now he is on a journey to photograph and create iconic WPA-style posters of all our major national parks as we celebrate the next 100 years of the National Park Service.
